Welcome to the growing place for children to find faith, fun, and to begin their lifelong adventure with God!
Children’s Ministry begins by cultivating deep roots in a loving, secure nursery and preschool environment, moves through The Upper Rooms for younger elementary (K-4) and arrives at The Loft for the preteen set (5-6). With leadership from volunteers and staff, each child experiences God’s love through interactive Bible story, service to others, and personal relationships.
Parkway Heights is committed to provide tools for parents as partners in nurturing spiritual growth of their children throughout the week. Through parent newsletters and interaction with teachers, parents have relevant, accessible resources to continue the conversation begun at church.
Our goal is to connect children and families with God and each other, to equip them for living the life of faith, and to send them into the world to serve.
FAQ'S
Are children’s programs offered during worship services?
Childcare is provided in our nursery area for infants through preschool-4 during both the 8:30 and 10:55 services. Older children attend worship with their families. Activity bags are offered for children to take back to their seat following Children’s Moments.
What else happens for children on Sunday mornings?
The Sunday School hour begins at 9:45 and offers experiences for two year olds through sixth graders. Preschool classes for young 2’s, older 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s meet downstairs. Kindergarteners through 4th graders are in The Upper Rooms workshop rotation experience. Preteens in 5th and 6th grade meet in The Loft.
Where do I go if I am coming for the first time?
Early Childhood services with check-in are located near the entrance of Parkway Heights. For assistance in locating older children’s areas, see the Host at the entrance or at the information table in the worship area.
Are all children to be picked up by a parent at the end of the hour?
All children in the nursery must be picked up by a parent. The nursery pager given you at drop-off is required to be returned in order to receive your child. Other children in Early Childhood must be picked up at their classroom by a parent. K-4th graders must be picked up by a parent from the Gathering Room in The Upper Rooms on the 2nd floor. Preteens will be in The Loft on the 2nd floor. You may arrange a meeting place with them prior to the close of the Sunday School hour.
How is my child’s safety assured?
All who work with children at Parkway Heights have undergone background checks and interviews with staff. Regular observation, open classrooms, and high volunteers-to-children ratio assist in ensuring your child’s safety while at Parkway Heights.
